10 Reasons You Should Try Django

Here are my slides from my talk at BathCamp 2008. I thought I only had about 15 minutes so didn’t include any code examples. In the end slots for 40 minutes so I could have gone into more detail. That said it seemed to work quite well and a good discussion followed my brief set of slides.

BathCamp was my first experience of a BarCamp/UnConference event and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately child care commitments meant I was unable to stay past 5pm so I missed a couple of talks I was really interested in, in particular “How to build a web app in 5 days” and @bealers “Tub Quiz”. Next time!

So here are my 10 reasons I think you should give Django a spin.

    Nicely done presentation. Clearly written and presented in smaller pieces so there aren’t too much on information in one slide. Works well in full screen mode.

    mod_python is not the best choice for deployment. FastCGI or mod_wsgi are better.
